Hundreds of Central Jakarta personnel held a sudden inspection (sidak) to monitor the implementation of public activity restrictions (PPKM) in crowded places that had been started since Saturday (6/19) evening until Sunday (6/20) at dawn.

The sidak involved Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, police and army was focused on five locations that often crowded on Sunday night.

Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Vice Chief, AKBP Setyo said that it was conducted intensively, as Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the capital city.

"We send around 300 joint personnel to the location," he expressed.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Bernard Tambunan explained it was precisely focused on Jalan Bundaran HI, Setiabudi, Jalan Tentara Pelajar, Jalan Asia Afrika and Patal Senayan area.

"In fact, those five locations are still crowded by dozens of traders and motorcycle taxis, as well as visitors, so we immediately disbanded them," he asserted.

Similar action was also spotted in eight sub-districts.

"We urge residents and traders to be more disciplined in implementing health protocols in order to curb the Covid-19," he asserted.
