Kelapa Dua Wetan (KDW) Urban Village Health Center (Puskesmas), Ciracas, East Jakarta, now has negative air pressure room. This 4x6 meter room is located in dental clinic on the third floor.

KDW Urban Village Health Center Head, Novi Wiarni stated, this negative air pressure room is more sterile, making dental clinic patients safe and comfortable. This room is equipped with special device for suctioning aerosols. Thus if there is aerosol in the room, it will not come out.

She assessed that provision of negative air pressure room becomes standard SOP for service. This negative pressu re room will also effectively reduce nurse and doctor contact with patients. Thus minimizing possibility of COVID-19 transmission.

"Services carried out in dentist are aerosol, thus COVID-19 transmission rate is very high. In order to improve service quality, we have prepared negative pressure room," she mentioned, Friday (6/11).

This negative air pressure room has been effectively operated since May 31.

Every day, there are one dentist and one nurse who work while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in this dental clinic.

"This room is also equipped with disinfectant liquid to sterilize medical equipment that have been used. Thus when it is reused, it is safe and sterile for other patients," she closed.
