The waste bank caretakers in Harapan Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands have undergone training, which aims to reduce waste and early sorting may work well.

We do evaluation and monitoring in order to know what obstacles are we facing

Harapan Island Urban Village Secretary, Irfan disclosed the training was held in accordance with the Gubernatorial Regulation number 77/2020 on Waste Management in the scope of Neighborhood (RW).

"We do evaluation and monitoring in order to know what obstacles are we facing," he expressed, Tuesday (4/27).

He hoped that the training could encourage residents in RW 01, 02 and 03, to sort waste independently, as well as process it into something useful through Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. By so it was surely able to reduce waste optimally.

"Each RW already has waste bank and must be optimized. Regarding waste transportation matters, we involve PPSU to handle it," he explained.

RW 03 Chairman, Muhammad Ali Kurniawan admitted that he was grateful, as residents were quite enthusiastic, even though not much had been collected.

"Alhamdulillah, waste transportation every week has reached between 50-90 kg," he closed.
