The water channels normalization on Jalan Tebet Raya, RW 01, Tebet Timur Urban Village, Tebet, South Jakarta has now progressed around 60 percent.
It has been ongoing since April 12 and is targeted to be complete by the end of April
Tebet Sub-district Head Dyan Airlangga said the channel as wide as 10 centimeters and 200 meters length was normalized up to 50 centimeters depth.
He explained it involved five personnel using simple tools, such as hoes and shovels.
"It has been ongoing since April 12 and is targeted to be complete by the end of April," he said, Tuesday (4/20).
He added it was conducted as the mud in the channel was dense enough thus the water could not be accommodated optimally.
"After it is done, we hope the channel is able to accommodate rainwater in large quantities when it rains," he stated.
