Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, received Happiness Award and was chosen as one of the 2020 Empowerment Figures organized by the national amil zakat institution, Rumah Zakat. He was chosen along with other national figures for his contribution against the pandemic in Jakarta.
" Allow me to express our gratitude and appreciation for our trust to be the recipient of the 2020 empowerment figure award"
"Allow me to express our gratitude and appreciation for our trust to be the recipient of the 2020 empowerment figure award. This is a mandate that must be guarded as well as possible, let me pass on to all aspects that work together," the governor stated, on the sidelines of 2021 Public Expose Rumah Zakat virtually, Thursday (2/25), as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
Since the pandemic attacks the capital, he explained, citizen safety was a priority. The steps taken were classified as units but were still based on scientific consideration, namely the consideration of epidemiologists to studying other cities in the world that were first facing a pandemic.
"Our priority is safety. The steps we take are indeed unique, because of the unique pandemic. Because it needs steps that rely on scientists and based on experiences in the past and experiences in other places," he explained.
Thereby he decided to impose micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta. In line with that, the city also implemented the Large-Scale Collaboration program, where it was a platform for anyone who wanted to help others in need during the pandemic.
When we implemented PSBB, we also launched KSBB. This was about to help our people through assistance from various circles and Rumah Zakat intervened as one of the aggregators in the KSBB.
"Collaboration is the key word in handling the pandemic, including its impact. InsyaAllah we will strengthen it and we are proud that every circle works hand in hand in solving the pandemic problem through KSBB," he closed.
