Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission A Member, August Hamonangan socializes the bylaw number 9/2011 on Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), to local residents on Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district.

"We want them to pay strong attention to disasters. Through this socialization, we encourage them to form the BPBD at city and regency level," he expressed, Monday (2/22).

North Thousand Islands Sub-district Head Ismail disclosed he thanked him for choosing Pramuka Island as a place for socialization and absorbing the aspirations of the people.

"Hopefully it can be discussed further and realized," he hoped.

According to him, it was important to facilitate coordination and quick handling when a disaster occurred.

"We need to continuously increase awareness and quick handling when a disaster occurs," he stated.
