The East Jakarta administration has sent more gravediggers for COVID-19 bodies from 16 become 30-35 people per day at the Bambu Wulung TPU, Bambu Apus, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

Those gravediggers are from the Pondok Ranggon TPU who are used to dealing with COVID-19 victims

Bambu Wulung TPU for COVID-19 Graves Supervisor Muhaimin expressed it was done, as the COVID-19 bodies that are buried continue to increase every day.

"Those gravediggers are from the Pondok Ranggon TPU who are used to dealing with COVID-19 victims," he explained, Friday (1/29).

He explained the bodies buried at the cemetery were not only from Jakarta but also Bogor Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Cikarang until Serang and Banteng.

He mentioned, since it was first opened on Thursday (1/21) until Thursday (1/28) night, the number of people buried had reached 321 bodies. From this number, 9 were buried on January 21, 37 were on January 22, 40 were on January 23, 38 were on January 24 and 25, 49 were on January 26, 51 were on January 27 and 59 were on January 28.

To accommodate more bodies, his party reduced the grave size from 2.5x1.5 square meters to 1.20x 2.2 square meters per plot. It was predictably able to provide around 850 to 900 plots of land.

"Whatever we will do is best for the residents in conditions full of limitations. Every day we are also doing evaluation together with them (gravediggers)," he stated.
