The Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) has been started building retention ponds, locally known as kolam olakan on Jalan Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading, precisely in the front of Kelapa Gading Mall.
We're going to make 11 ponds
Citrin Indriati, Head of Kelapa Gading SDA Executing Unit stated it was done to minimize puddles and floods in the rainy season.
"We're going to make 11 ponds. It has been ongoing since October 2020 and is targeted to be complete in the forthcoming March," she expressed, Wednesday (1/27).
Thus far her side had built six ponds through 30 personnel. Each had 25 to 35 meters long with 1.5 meters deep. They were made to flow water into the Gading Raya, Kelapa Nias, and BGR Kelapa Gading connecting channels.
"Hopefully it is able to minimize puddles and floods around Jalan Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading," she hoped.
