The Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency dredges the 40-meter width retention pond, locally known as kolam olakan at the Dukuh Atas Underpass, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang.
Hopefully the pond can accommodate water in large quantities
Rakim Sastranegara, Sub-agency Head of Central Jakarta Bina Marga said it was carried out to optimize the function of the pump in a bid to anticipate flooding in the rainy season.
"We send 10 personnel to dredge up mud in the pond," he expressed.
It was targeted to be complete in this week.
"Hopefully the pond can accommodate water in large quantities," he stated.
