Thousand Islands COVID-19 Task Force intensified health protocols monitoring on Christmas holiday in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

4 tourists and residents were netted and sentenced to clean public facilities as social sanction

Thousand Islands Satpol PP PPNS Section Head, Sugiri stated, health protocols monitoring was tighten through mask operation which held in 6 urban villages.

"In mask operation which held until December 27 during Christmas holiday, 4 tourists and residents were netted and sentenced to clean public facilities as social sanction," he said, Tuesday (12/29).

In detail, two violators were caught in mask operation held in Harapan Island, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, and one violator each in Untung Jawa Island and Pari Island, South Thousand Islands Sub-districts.

"We impose sanction on them to give deterrent effect. It is important to wear mask, especially in public areas," he added.

Meanwhile, cafes, restaurants and stalls were monitored to be in order and no violations. According to the regulation, their operating hours set until 19:00 and they didn't provide food and drinks on the spot along Christmas and New Year Holidays.

"Monitoring is not only tightened during holidays, but also on weekends and weekdays," he asserted.
