Central Jakarta Government forcibly closed 15 business places on Jalan Sabang, Menteng and Jl. Raya Cempaka Putih, Cempaka Putih that were found to violate Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) regulations during PSBB monitoring carried out on Saturday (12/26) night.

"Those business places which are still open after 7 PM will be ordered to close immediately"

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor, Irwandi stated, his side forcibly closed 15 business places that violated Jakarta Gubernatorial Appeal (Sergub) No. 17/2020 on PSBB tightening which limits offices, shopping centers, and business places operating hours to 7 PM.

"I want to make sure that Jakarta Gubernatorial Appeal to be implemented well. Those business places which are still open after 7 PM will be ordered to close immediately," he said, who led the PSBB monitoring in two locations.

In this monitoring, he conveyed, most people and business actors in Central Jakarta have complied with regulations for operating hours mentioned at Gubernatorial Appeal No. 17/2020.

"But they still open their businesses although we have asked them to close it immediately. Thus, if they still violate the regulations, they will be subjected to administrative fines," he informed.

He hopes, both people and business actors, to comply with Jakarta Gubernatorial Appeal in order to prevent COVID-19 spread.

"Yesterday, number of COVID-19 cases in Central Jakarta reached 1,900 cases a day. We hope this figure can drop drastically," he said.

For information, PSBB monitoring was carried out during Christmas and New Year holidays on Jl. Sabang and Cempaka Putih which involved 75 joint personnel from sub-districts, Satpol PP, TNI (army), Police, and community organizations.
