Jakarta Government through Manpower, Transmigration (Nakertrans) and Energy Agency received award from Manpower Ministry for the Efforts to Respect, Protect, and Fulfill Labor Rights for People with Disabilities in Business/Inclusive Industry.

Jakarta Nakertrans and Energy Agency is considered to have responsibility in increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in accordance with Law (UU) No. 8/2016 on People with Disabilities.
Jakarta Nakertrans Agency's Manpower Placement and Transmigration Division Head, Saigor Polmatua Gultom mentioned, his side has often given socialization for companies that have or haven't opened job opportunities for people with disabilities in Jakarta.
"He have job delivery officer whose job is to socialize and provide information related to Law No. 8/2016 to companies. We convey the companies that they have obligation to provide at least one percent of employment opportunities to people with disabilities," he explained, Thursday (12/17).
Before the pandemic, he continued, Nakertrans and Energy Agency regularly visited companies to socialize, provide guidance and inputs concerning this issue.
"If they don't have employee with disability, we educate them about it and ask whether the company provides job opportunity for them. Our officer will see if there is any position that can be given to people disability, depending on the classification or type of disability," he conveyed.
He hopes there will be more industry or business actors which provide job opportunities for people with disabilities thus their rights can be fulfilled and protected.
"Based on the evaluation, Jakarta Nakertrans and Energy Agency will give the award to encourage more companies in Jakarta to provide job opportunities for people with disabilities in various sectors, including retail, financial institutions, communications or call centers," he closed.
