Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency handled 1,213 kilograms of disposable masks waste from households.

Jakarta LH Agency Acting Head (Plt), Syarifudin conveyed, those infectious waste were collected from April to mid Dece mber 2020.
"We want to make sure infectious waste to be handled properly to avoid Covid-19 transmission," he said, Wednesday (12/16).
Jakarta LH Agency's Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) Management Section Head, Rosa Ambarsari mentioned, cleaning officers sorted and collected infectious waste from households, such as disposable mask, to be handled properly.
"Jakarta Environment Agency cooperates with licensed B3 waste management company to destruct waste through incinerating," she said.
She encouraged people, especially housewives, to start sorting medical waste since it is important during pandemic situation.
"Let's sort the waste from our households. Then, spray it with disinfectant and store it in closed package. Later, it becomes our responsibility for further handling," she stated.
