The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency has noted that as many as 328 fire cases have occurred in East Jakarta.
It is mostly caused by electricity short-circuit (199 cases), gas stoves (30 cases), cigarette (12 cases) and other factors (87 cases)
From the incident, the material losses incurred were estimated at Rp 69.3 billion and caused five victims to die and 12 others were injured.
Fire and Rescue Division Head Gatot Sulaeman stated, those 328 cases occurred in ten sub-districts or 65 urban villages.
"It is mostly caused by electricity short-circuit (199 cases), gas stoves (30 cases), cigarette (12 cases) and other factors (87 cases)," he said, Tuesday (12/8).
While the burning objects were dominated by house buildings (87 units), public and commercial buildings (50 units), industrial buildings (10 units), vehicles (33 units) and waste (27 points).
Then outdoors installation (90 units), stalls (5 points), trees and plants (18 units). As for the total area burned was 30,768 square meters.
"To put out these 328 fires, we deployed 1,171 fire engines," he stated.
