"The land under cooperation is 1,000 out of the 3,000 hectares total land area owned by PT Sang Hyang Seri," said PT Food Station Tjipinang Managing Director, Arief Prasetyo Adi, Saturday (10/10).
He stated the dry season usually occurred in November and December. That was why, the cooperation in rice procurement was continuously carried out to maintain supply.
"We are used to doing this. We continue to maintain the food needs in Jakarta to keep it safe," he said.
By so, the company would obtain a supply of 14,000 tons of GKP until the end of 2020 with an estimated average productivity per hectare of six tons.
"If the cooperation is success in next year, it will be expanded with the contract farming mechanism. With this system, we can ask them to plant certain varieties on the land that has been cooperated," he explained.
He added it was in line with the direction of Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan.
As for the information, the signing of the cooperation was done by PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Managing Director, Arief Prasetyo Adi and PT Sang Hyang Seri Managing Director, Karyawan Gunarso. It was made on Thursday (10/8).
"Hopefully the food supply in Jakarta will continue to be maintained," he hoped.
