Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency officially closed Thousand Islands temporarily for tourism purposes.
The circulars mentioned that tourist sites in Thousand Islands are temporarily closed
It was stated in circulars of Jakarta Parekraf Agency No. 353/SE/2020 concerning Restrictions on Tourism Business During PSBB Period which officially started on September 14, 2020.
Thousand Islands Parekraf Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti mentioned, the closure of tourist areas in Thousand Islands follows the development of PSBB policy implemented by Jakarta Government.
"The circulars mentioned that tourist sites in Thousand Islands are temporarily closed, so automatically there will be no tourism activities," she conveyed during the PSBB monitoring held at Marina Pier, Ancol, Wednesday (9/16).
According to her, this closure doesn't only apply to tourism in inhabited islands, but also resort islands, conservation islands, and historical islands.
"Currently, tourists are prohibited from visiting Thousand Islands until an undetermined time limit, but we hope this condition will recover quickly thus economy can recover on its own," she said.
