PD. Pal Jaya launched desludging service for mosque program at Jami Asy Syafiun Mosque, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/22). This program was carried out through collaboration between PD. PAL Jaya with Jakarta Baznas Bazis and Indonesia Mosque Council (DMI) Jakarta.

PD. PAL Jaya Acting Pres ident Director (Plh), Erwin Marphy Ali mentioned, quota for this program is up to 250 septic tanks. Recently, 32 mosques have registered for this desludging service.
"From total 32 registered mosques, we have emptied 16 septic tanks. Until end of July, we provide quota of 250 septic tanks," he conveyed.
According to him, this program is carried out ahead of Eid al-Adha because many mosques that will carry out sacrificial animals (qurban) slaughtering. Thus PD. PAL Jaya offers to desludge the mosque's septic tank first.
"Septic tank should be maintained well to prevent it from polluting the environment. Besides the neighbors can also learn about desludging," he mentioned.
Jakarta DMI Chairperson, Makmun Al Ayubi admitted, there is no obstacle in socializing this program. Many mosques are enthusiastic to get this service but some of the registered mosque don't have septic tank. There are also mosques with septic tank but don't have a pit for desludging or the mosque location can't be accessed by vacuum truck.
"We ensure to survey all the registrants. From recent data, there are 3,920 mosques in Jakarta, thus we are optimistic to reach our target for desludging 250 mosque septic tanks," he asserted.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Baznas Bazis Chairperson, Ahmad Luthfi Fathullah conveyed, his side helped PD. PAL Jaya to socialize this program, such as distributing brochures.
"Our mechanism for this program is collected fund from the community to Baznas Bazis will be given to PD. PAL Jaya based on its nominal. We hope all parties can cooperate well to make this program successful," he said.
