Growing vegetables and fruits using urban farming concept in order to meet the need of food is considered very beneficial, especially during the Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period.

Apparently, the residents who run urban farming through green alley program have earned the benefits from harvesting various vegetables such as spinach, water spinach, green mustard, and bok choy.
KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni assessed, urban farming helps residents to fulfill their needs of food independently.
"People can meet the needs of vegetables for their families without going to the market. Even if your house only have a small yard, you can use it to grow variety of vegetables and fruits," he said, Monday (4/20).
He reminds residents who carry out farming in groups to comply with the health protocols.
"Be sure to maintain physical distance and wear face mask if you grow plants outside your house," he mentioned.
Repelita, one of the urban farming activists at Swakarya Green Alley in Meruya Selatan, Kembangan, West Jakarta, said that urban farming is very useful to be applied in the current condition.
"We have harvested different kinds of vegetables such as samhong, water spinach, bok choy, snake gourd, luffa, and red cayenne pepper. Thus people don't need to go buy vegetables anymore. We also keep our distance and always wear face mask," she mentioned.
Meanwhile other activist named Khidam Mutako from Pancoran Urban Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta conveyed, his side sold some of harvested vegetables consist of green and red spinach, water spinach, and bok choy to his neighbors and friends who have ordered before.
"It is very useful to do urban farming, especially in the current situation where people are difficult and limited to travel outside. Because people can get fresh vegetables easier," he said.
