Following up Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan's advice regarding Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Jakarta Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) instructed broadcast monitoring officers to work from home starting March 16, 2020 until the next two weeks.
They are required to make daily report about their monitoring work
Jakarta KPID Head, Kawiyan mentioned, in accordance with Anies' advice, his side assessed that social distancing measure should be conducted in Jakarta, where people mind their distance with the others, reduce meeting and gathering, avoid physical contact, stay away from the crowd to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
"Limiting activities in the crowd can be done by doing the activities at home," he stated, Monday (3/16).
Starting March 16, 2020, he continued, all broadcast monitoring officers will do their work at home. Operational procedure standard will be the same as in the office which is to monitor particular television programs and stations.
"They are required to make daily report about their monitoring work," he added.
He admitted, monitoring work at home will not as optimal as in the office because of limited technologies in their houses.
"But this instruction should be done because people safety is the more important," he expressed.
For information, Jakarta KPID is an independent state institution whose job is to supervise media broadcasting television and radio. Jakarta KPID has officers who are responsible for monitoring television and radio shows.
