Sooner or later, The city administration is going to realize a land-reclamation project on Jakarta's northern coast for a giant sea wall. As planned, the project will result an additional land as wide as ​​51 thousand hectares.

"In land-reclamation, there will be 17 new islands that are part of regional development for Jakarta's north coast," said Executive Vice President of PT Intiland Development Tbk, Suhendra Prabowo, in Jakarta, Thursday (9/11).

Prabowo said his side as one of the reclamation permit holders is ready to build one of 17 new islands in the first quarter of 2015. "Intiland have a permit reclamation with 63 hectares wide of the total land as long as ​​51 thousand hectares to build an island on Jakarta's north coast," he expressed.

Such project is predicted to finish within a period of three years. Its dredging will use sea sand as high as 8 meters from sea level. "Sand is taken from the sea. The project does not damage other islands in the Seribu Islands Regency," he explained.

According to him, his side was assigned to build a small island compared to islands made by other developers. "From the land reclamation is estimated we could build approximately 1.5 million square meters for residential, hotel, and shopping centers," he expressed.

He asserted that he also got the responsibility from the city administration as a consequence received reclamation permit on Jakarta's northern coast. "In accordance with contract, we were required to give five percent of the total area of reclamation to city administration. We also have alternative obligations to build the water pump house, dredge mud at Pluit Reservoir, or build dikes," he stressed.

As known, the Intiland is the only experienced developer reclaiming beaches. For instance, is to dredge beach as wide as ​​100 hectares in Muara Baru and Pluit regions in the decade of the 80s which is known as the Pantai Mutiara Housing Complex. There, Intiland develops the Regatta Apartment.

Totally, the Intiland plans build 10 apartments and 1 hotel. In 2011, they completed 4 apartments that were sold, and in second phase, three other apartments would be realized soon.
