PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) officially implements the Sunter Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) project, following the signing of the cooperation agreement through the Jakarta Provincial Government.
" It is a joint effort to reduce the problem of municipal waste"
Besides implementing the city's mandate, PT Jakpro President Director Dwi Wahyu Daryoto, his party has also agreed to a power purchase agreement (PPA) between PT PLN with PT Jakarta Solusi Lestari (JSL), an operator formed by Jakpro with the Finnish public company, Fortum.
"It is a joint effort to reduce the problem of municipal waste. This our first project is able to convert waste into 35MW of electrical energy from 2,200 tons of waste material per day," he expressed, Monday (22/10).
This agreement worth USD 11.88 cents per kWh from the facilities built and carried out after negotiations and funding sources were completed.
"We appreciate PT PLN and the support of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry in realizing this project," he told.
From 7,500 tons of waste in Jakarta, the ITF could only manage 29.3 percent and 70.7 percent of the potential had not been exploited and had to be overcome by efforts to reduce waste products.
"This is to create a new face of Jakarta that is clean and responsible for the waste generated," he told.
It will operate in 2022 and will be connected with the Kemayoran substation through transmission lines of 150 kV along 2.2 km.
Therefore his party tries to realize a new perspective that waste is not useless on a massive scale, but very useful.
"Surely we're grateful for this good cooperation and this is our duty that must be completed in an integrated manner for the sake of natural sustainability," he closed.
