Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, launched the Jakarta Disability Card (KPDJ) for disabled people at the Matraman Sports Center, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/8).

"I hope that they could use this funding aid as well as possible "

The card handover was symbolically conducted to five representatives of disabled people. This program aims to prevent social vulnerability in Jakarta and meet their basic needs.

"I hope that they could use this funding aid as well as possible. We are all the same, but what is different is the need. Nevertheless we want all later to feel the well-being, happiness and justice. This is what we want," he expressed, quoted by Jakarta PPID press release.

The amount of funds injected was around Rp 300,000 per person per month, which can be disbursed every quarter.

It was dedicated to those who were registered in the Integrated Database (BDT), have the NIK and from outside the institution both government and regional.

He also requested a support to them for the Social Agency to facilitate the needy, especially disabled people.

"This donation is from tax money in Jakarta. This is from Jakarta citizens. We just manage and distribute it. We also want to expand it toward other disabled people in Jakarta. So we need your support," he explained.

He also expressed his direction to his ranks (Bank DKI) to prioritize disabled people in equitable service delivery.

"Please serve them well. Respect them! So if they come, you have to prioritize them first. It's like we respect our own parents, Insya Allah our nation will be increasingly civilized," he uttered.

As for the information, the card receiver on the first stage reached 7,137 out of 14,459 people who were registered. From 7,137 people, divided into five areas for Central Jakarta (1,042 people), North Jakarta (1,322 people), West Jakarta (1,018 people), South Jakarta (1,361 people), East Jakarta (2,352 people), as well as Thousand Islands (42 people).

There is a legal basis for implementing the Jakarta Disability Card Program includes;

1. Act number 29/2007 on Jakarta Provincial Government as the capital of the republic of Indonesia

2. Act number 11/2009 on Disabled People

3. Act number 8/2016 on Disabled People.

4. Act number 10/2011 on Protection of Disabled People

5. Act number 24/2019 on Social Aid Injection for Disabled People
