Farmed Fish at Taman Jangkrik RPTRA Ready for Harvesting

Today is time for harvesting fish at Taman Jangkrik Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. RPTRA administrators and Ciganjur PKK team use small net to catch sangkuriang catfish, tilapia fish, and carp fish from drained small fish pond, Friday (3/8).

We give some fish harvest to RPTRA administrators and sold the others to residents

This RPTRA has three ponds for three different fish. Catfish pond has 6x2.5 square meters size, while tilapia and carp ponds have 8x2 square meters size. It takes 3 months for catfish to be ready for harvesting, while six months for tilapia and eight months for carp.

"South Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-department gave us fingerlings and we take care of it until it is ready to be harvested. We give some fish harvest to RPTRA administrators and sold the others to residents who want these organic catfish," mentioned Nawang Wiji Rahayu, Ciganjur PKK Team Leader.

Her side harvested 70 kilograms catfish, 15 kilograms tilapia fish, and 10 kilograms carp fish.

Rohimah (37), one of RT 08/04 residents of Cipedak Urban Village, Jagakarsa mentioned that she has arrived since 7 AM to buy fish at Taman Jangkrik RPTRA.

"By this way, I can choose the fish while it is still fresh. I bought three kilograms catfish and one kilogram tilapia fish," she explained.
