North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Gulkarmat Sub-dept. managed to extinguish fire that burns Natural Resources Conservation Center's Forestry Guesthouse (BKSDA) at RT 01 RW 01, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands.

South Seribu Islands Sub-district Sector 8 Head, Eko Mahendro stated, his side received fire report around 7.45 am and fire was extinguished around 8.15 am.

"We handle fire by deploying four personnel and one floating pump unit," he said, Thursday (12/20).

He estimated that it was caused by fire from garbage combustion is carried by strong wind and burn fragile building roof. There were no fatalities in this incident and its material loss was around Rp 1 million.

"We remind residents not to burn garbage carelessly thus the same incident will not happen again," he conveyed.
