Fire Destroys Tens of Buildings in Benhil

A massive fire destroyed tens of homes and stalls in a densely populated area on Jalan Pam Lama, RT 015/006, Benhil Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. From the information gathered, it was allegedly triggered by burning garbage that spread to residents.

There are no obstacles to put out the fire, as the scene is close to the river

Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. Handling Section Head, Syariffudin said, 21 fire triks were immediately sent to the scene at 3.30 PM.

"There are no obstacles to put out the fire, as the scene is close to the river. Yet most buildings are made by wood and located in a dense populated area," he expressed, Saturday (9/9).

On the other hand, Tanah Abang Sub-district Head, Dedi Arif Darsono said, fire had burned 50 buildings and stalls.

"Around 110 households have lost their homes," he closed.
