Jakarta Environment Dept. intends to transform a river of Jalan Puri Indah, Kembangan Selatan, Kembangan, West Jakarta into a recreational site in the capital.
It is hoped able to attract tourists to enjoy and explore the river using a mini rowboat up to one kilometer.
Junjungan Sihombing, Head of Water Agency for Jakarta Environment Dept. assessed the Puri Indah River is clean and also completed by a wide variety of culinary and adequate parking area.
"Of course we've been doing survey. The river is eligible as a recreational site. People surely can enjoy it," he stated, Saturday (2/18).
In the location, his side also plans to spread fish seeds. By so the visitor could explore and give food to the fish using the boat.
"It also aims to maintain ecosystem," he expressed.
Such project will involve related agencies such as Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. and KUMKMP Dept.
Aside that, similar thing will also be applied to other potential places, such as East Flood Canal (KBT), Setu Rawa Dongkal in Ciracas, Setu Mangga Bolong in Jagakarsa and Melati Dam in Tanah Abang.
"Our project is targeted to be launched in mid of this year," he finished.
