120 joint officers carried out the arrangement of the Asemka shopping area, RW 01, Roa Malaka, Tambora, West Jakarta.
Apart from targeting illegal parking and street vendors, officers also demolished illegal buildings under the China Town Bridge, Jalan Pintu Kecil, Roa Malaka.
This activity is only a precaution
Head of Tambora District, Pangestu Aji said This area's improvement is a regular feature of the Tambora Tertib Aman, Mandiri, Peduli, Asri, dan Nyaman (TAMPAN) program, held every Wednesday. This time, the activity targeted the Asemka shopping area.
"This activity is only a precaution, especially in the area under the non-toll flyover which is busy with traders," he said, Wednesday (11/4).
Aji explained that officers' sweeps still uncovered illegal parking on sidewalks, despite the fact that a section of Jalan Petukangan has been designated as a cashless parking lot.
Then, his team also discovered that Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) had built housing under the China Town Bridge. Officers secured the PPKS and dismantled the illegal structure.
"We will hold meetings involving various related parties to organize the Asemka area later," he added.
Head of Roa Malaka Urban Village, Wendi Irmansyah stated previously, in October, his team had demolished illegal buildings under the China Town Bridge. The operation followed public concerns that the location was frequently used as a gathering place for individuals who were disturbing the community.
However, today, his team again discovered the land under the China Town Bridge being used for residential construction. As a follow-up, his team demolished the building and secured the PPKS.
Additionally, the illegal parking enforcement campaign resulted in the towing of 17 vehicles through the Tire Valve Removal Operation (OCP). These included six two-wheeled vehicles, eight three-wheeled vehicles, and three four-wheeled vehicles.
"Today's TAMPAN activity also includes free health checks from the Tambora District Health Center at Jalan Petokangan intersection," he stated.
