The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, kept his promise to hold his first meeting in Kembangan District, West Jakarta to listen to and resolve various issues that had been hampered.

In this meeting, Pramono highlighted three main pressing issues, namely flooding, traffic congestion, and optimization of the TPS 3R in Meruya Selatan.

"There are three main issues. The first is related to flooding, the second is related to traffic congestion and road widening, and the third is related to the TPS 3R in Meruya Selatan," he said, Tuesday (11/3).

To solve the flooding and inundation issues, Pramono decided to continue construction of 2.3 kilometers of sheet piles. Furthermore, channel normalization will continue to prevent overflows.

Meanwhile, to address congestion in the surrounding area, it has been decided to widen Jalan Joglo Raya. This 2.3-kilometer road widening project is targeted for completion in 2028.

"It may not be finished in 2027, it may take until 2028 for widening and so on," he added.

Meanwhile, to optimize waste management in the Meruya Selatan area, Pramono permitted the management of the TPS 3R to collaborate with the private sector.

The TPS 3R facility in Meruya Selatan has a capacity of 7.3 tons of waste, but its daily production is only around 3.5 to four tons.

"It needs to be improved, especially with the existence of Governor Regulation Number 5 of 2026, we are really encouraging and allowing TPS 3R to be collaborated with the private sector," he explained.

By optimizing waste management at the TPS 3R, Pramono believes the amount of waste sent to the Bantargebang landfill will be reduced significantly.

The Governor stated that through this district-level meeting, all previously hindered issues could be immediately resolved. He assured that relevant officials would immediately follow up on the meeting's decisions.

"I have decided everything and immediately executed it because all the relevant OPDs were present and involved," Pramono emphasized.

Meanwhile, Head of Kembangan District, Fahmy Karsawijaya stated the Jalan Joglo Raya widening project is a response to the aspirations of the local community. This route is the main road connecting West Jakarta with the Tangerang area.

"There has been no more work since 2019, while only 2.3 (km) remains," he stated.

According to him, traffic on this road has been very heavy, causing congestion. This road widening project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion.
