The East Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency provided free emissions testing services at the Makasar District Office in East Jakarta. As many as 72 vehicles were successfully tested.

East Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency's First Expert Environmental Impact Controller of the Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section, Intan Azzahra said this activity is part of an effort to bring services closer to the community.

Easily access emission testing services

"We do this with a mobile system at the district office so that the public, especially motor vehicle owners, can more easily access emission testing services," she said, Tuesday (11/3).

She added that her party prepared three testing tools for two-wheeled vehicles, gasoline-powered cars, and diesel-powered cars.

"Emissions testing will continue as a measure to reduce air pollution. The transportation sector is a major contributor to air pollution emissions and requires serious attention," she added.

The vehicles tested for emissions consisted of 15 gasoline-powered cars, three diesel-powered cars, and 54 motorcycles.

"A total of 66 vehicles passed the emissions test. Six motorcycles failed," she explained.

Meanwhile, one of the vehicle owners, Erni (35) admitted happy to participate in this free emission test.

"Nearby service locations are easier to reach," she admitted.
