The Jakarta Provincial Government will close access to the Antasari Non-Toll Elevated Road (JLNT) from midnight to 4 AM on Saturday (11/14), to prevent street racing.
The closures will take place on Friday nights and Saturday nights
The closures will take place on Friday nights (early Saturday mornings) and Saturday nights (early Sunday mornings).
Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin said the installation of barriers on JLNT Antasari was carried out in response to the Jakarta Governor's directive following public reports of street racing in the area.
"This measure is expected to prevent street racing, improve road safety and traffic order, and provide a greater sense of security for the public," he said on Monday (11/2).
Budi explained that the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, in coordination with the South Jakarta Metro Police, would install barriers at five locations: the on-ramp near Al Itushom Mosque, the off-ramp at Pasar Cipete, the on-ramp at Blok M, and the off-ramp and on-ramp in front of the South Jakarta Mayor's Office.
"The first closure will begin with a roll-call briefing at 10 PM on Friday (November 13, 2026), at the South Jakarta Mayor's Office. Officers will manage traffic and close access points to JLNT Antasari using barriers, with additional road barriers or traffic cones placed in front of them to direct traffic away from the elevated road's entrance routes," he explained.
Budi added that a public information campaign would run from October 30 to November 13, 2026, ahead of the closures. The campaign will include banners at 10 locations and announcements on social media.
"While the public information campaign is underway and before JLNT Antasari is closed, officers from the relevant agencies will continue conducting mobile patrols on Friday and Saturday nights," he said.
