The Jakarta government has praised the 'Ancol Berdzikir dan Bershalawat' gathering at Ancol Dreamland's coastal grounds and An-Nur Floating Mosque in Pademangan, North Jakarta, highlighting its vital role in fostering Islamic brotherhood and reinforcing community spiritual values.
Jakarta’s progress as a global hub must be balanced by the moral and spiritual empowerment of its society, said Muhammad Matsani, Head of Jakarta Mental, Spiritual, and Education Bureau.
Our aim is for Ancol to offer tranquility and joy
He said that city-building goes beyond physical, technological, and economic achievements, demanding equal attention to the social and spiritual quality of life of its residents.
"City advancement should be demonstrated through moral maturity, spirituality, tolerance, and social empathy. Let communal prayers and blessings serve as a calming energy to keep Jakarta secure, peaceful, and full of blessings," Matsani expressed, Sunday (11/1).
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk President Director Syahmudrian Lubis stated that the event demonstrates the management's dedication to hosting community-driven programs.
"Guided by revered religious scholars and habaib, we held this joint prayer and salawat session. Our aim is for Ancol to offer tranquility and joy through faith-based tourism that carries blessings," he explained.
He added that Ancol is embarking on a strategic transformation over the next two to four years to ensure the iconic recreational destination remains relevant, inclusive, and a source of national pride.
This transformation also entails a firm commitment to maintaining and enlivening the An-Nur Floating Mosque, in line with the mandate set by the Jakarta government.
"We invite the public to join hands in preserving and revitalizing the An-Nur Floating Mosque as a vibrant hub for worship, Islamic study, and faith-based outreach," he concluded.
On the other hand, DPP FUHAB Chairman KH M Luthfi Zawawi lauded the partnership between Islamic scholars, the Jakarta government, and regional enterprises such as PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk and PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
"This is a historic moment, representing one of the largest seaside prayer and salawat assemblies in Ancol," he noted.
He pointed out that the An-Nur Floating Mosque, freshly inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, has already begun serving the public, recently holding its very first Friday congregational prayer.
"Gathering reverently at the water's edge to remember Allah and honor the Prophet reflects our shared inner quest. We hope prayers from Jakarta's shores will foster blessings, well-being, and a just, prosperous society," he concluded.
