A total of 442 beneficiary residents in West Jakarta, Thursday (10/29), enjoyed the Jakarta Provincial Government's Diploma Redemption program.

762 beneficiaries

The diploma handover was carried out symbolically by Vice Mayor Ali Murtadho in the MH Thamrin Room, Block B, West Jakarta Mayor's Office.

Ali stated that this diploma distribution marked the second phase of the program, following the distribution to 320 beneficiaries.

"In the two stages of this program, there are 762 beneficiaries with a total nominal value of around Rp 1.1 billion," he said.

Ali added that these beneficiaries include elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, vocational school, and equivalent students. The program also includes diploma redemption for PKBM and SKB students.

Ali continued that for underprivileged residents who have difficulty redeeming their diplomas, they can take advantage of this program by contacting the local urban village or district office.

"Please contact the ranks of urban village, district, and city level to get this program," he appealed.

Member of Jakarta City Council, Ahmad Lukman Jupiter, assessed that this program is concrete evidence of the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to advancing public education.

He believes this program will also improve the well-being of residents. With legal educational credentials, they can continue their education and access the formal sector.

"As a global city, we want to reduce unemployment and poverty. We must solve this by addressing education issues," he said.

Putri Sekar Ayu, a beneficiary from Kalideres, expressed her deep gratitude for being able to retrieve her diploma, which had been held at SMP Harapan Jaya. She hopes that having the diploma will help her as she continues her studies at a vocational high school (SMK).

"Thank God, I received assistance so I can continue my studies and can apply for jobs later too," she admitted.
