A joint task force comprising the Satpol PP, Police, Military (TNI), Transportation Agency, Public Works Agency, Parks and Forestry Agency, Water Resources Agency (SDA), and PPSU personnel cleared six semi-permanent structures from Jakarta government land in BTN 1 Park and BTN 2 Park, RW 03 Kembangan Utara, Kembangan, West Jakarta, Thursday (10/24).

West Jakarta City Secretary Imron Sjahrin stated that the park asset is legally registered under Right-of-Use Certificate (SHP) No. 5/1997. Consequently, upon receiving community reports that the land was being reoccupied, authorities acted swiftly to execute the clearance.

We previously cleared this site back in 2024

"We previously cleared this site back in 2024. However, individuals claiming to represent the heirs reoccupied the area, prompting us to step in and enforce the law again today," he expressed, Thursday (10/24).

He explained that the claimants based their ownership on informal land customary deeds (girik). However, municipal verification at the sub-district level confirmed that these deeds are legally expired and invalid.

The municipal land at BTN 1 Park (RT 06/03, Kembangan Utara) spans approximately 1,200 square meters, while BTN 2 Park (RT 07/03) covers 950 square meters.

Prior to the operation, the sites had been illegally backfilled with construction debris and soil. His team is now moving heavy equipment on-site to clear the grounds, build perimeter fencing, and begin full park redevelopment.

To permanently lock out future land grabs, the city is establishing a 24/7 security watchpost directly on-site.

"We're pairing municipal oversight with community-led security. By working side-by-side with neighborhood residents at the monitoring post, we are ensuring these green spaces remain protected for the public good.

West Jakarta Satpol PP Head Heri Purnama explained that the clearance operation mobilized a joint force of 250 personnel, supported by two heavy excavators and 30 transport trucks.

"Thankfully, the enforcement operation proceeded smoothly and maintained a safe, orderly environment," he asserted.

RW 03 Kembangan Utara Chairman Junaedi added that local residents had long been troubled by the unlawful encroachment on the park.

Beyond losing access to vital green space, sports facilities, and community amenities, residents also suffered from constant dust kicked up during illegal land clearing, as well as clogged drainage channels blocked by dumped soil.

"We hope the government promptly restores and rebuilds the park as a proper public facility and social space for our community," he hoped.
