An East Jakarta task force has been formed to tackle rampant illegal waste dumping along Jalan Raya Bogor.
They will be stationed across three 24-hour posts to conduct surveillance and execute red-handed operations against individuals caught littering.
Guards will monitor all three zones
East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin said the effort as a concrete push to curb persistent illegal dumping along the Jalan Raya Bogor area.
According to him, monitoring will be split into three zones spanning Pasar Rebo, Ciracas, and Kramat Jati areas. Each zone will host a guard post manned by joint personnel from overlapping sub-districts and urban villages.
"Guards will monitor all three zones around the clock every day through a rotating shift system," he expressed, Saturday (10/24).
He explained personnel deployed to each sector will monitor the corridor and catch violators in the act through sting operations.
Under the spatial division, Zone 1 covers the stretch from the Depok-Pekayon border line to the front of the Kramat Jati Central Market.
As for the Zone 2 covers the section of Jalan Raya Bogor stretching from Kramat Jati Main Market to the PGC intersection. Zone 3 encompasses the area in front of the Kramat Jati Fish Market.
"To support surveillance operations, each zone will be equipped with tents serving as guard posts for personnel," he explained.
Munjirin added that the personnel consist of staff drawn from adjoining urban village offices.
"Shift schedules will be coordinated by the East Jakarta administration, with municipal officials actively overseeing ground implementation," he added.
Personnel will also clear sidewalk vendors between Harapan Bunda Hospital and Kramat Jati Main Market.
Munjirin urged traders to find alternative trading spots.
"Satpol PP will notify vendors and issue warning letters in three stages before clearing the area," he stated.
