City-owned mass rapid transit operator PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) is adjusting its operational hours on Saturday and Sunday (10/24–25) to support public mobility and participants of the myBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026, which takes place along several major thoroughfares.

MRT Jakarta will kick off early morning operations across the two-day period. On Saturday, October 24, services start at 3 AM, running at 12-minute intervals until 4 AM. Normal weekend headways of 10 minutes will resume from 4 AM. until midnight.

On Sunday, October 25, trains will run past midnight from 12 AM. to 1:30 AM. at 14-minute intervals. This extended service specifically caters to attendees of Kanye West’s concert, Ye Live in Jakarta 2026.

MRT trains will then resume operations at 3 AM. until 4 AM, running every 12 minutes, followed by 10-minute headways from 4 AM to midnight.

Alongside schedule modifications, MRT Jakarta is rolling out free travel perks for myBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026 participants, according to PT MRT Jakarta Operations and Maintenance Director Mega Tarigan.

Mega noted that registered runners are entitled to two complimentary trips on Octobet 22–23 during race pack pickup and on October 24–25 for the race days.

Mega explained that data from the Jakarta Running Festival 2025 evaluated the impact of early service hours (3 AM to midnight), recording approximately 24,060 commuters utilizing the MRT network.

"This represented 88 percent of the 27,300 total runners who participated in the festival 2025," she added, Friday (10/23).

According to her, those evaluation figures show that the MRT has cemented itself as a primary transit choice for race participants.

"With runner turnout for the 2026 Jakarta Running Festival projected at around 37,000, we estimate that roughly 32,608 participants will rely on MRT Jakarta to get to the event site," she explained.

He went on to say that the schedule tweak aligns with MRT Jakarta's effort to back major global events while keeping public transit seamless, safe, and dependable.

"MRT Jakarta is fully prepared to facilitate the myBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026. By starting operations earlier, we ensure a smooth transit experience for participants and everyday commuters alike," she continued.
