The Jakarta Provincial Government through the Food Security, Maritime Affairs, and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) has provided five Mobile Animal Clinics in Jakarta to expand access to animal health services for the public.
This service operates in rotation across the five administrative city areas, reaching various public spaces, public service offices, and Child-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA).
Maintaining animal health
Based on the data obtained, the Jakarta Mobile Veterinary Clinic service has reached 4,377 pets with a total of 3,616 clients as of October 20, 2026.
Based on type, the animals receiving services consist of 3,582 cats, 728 dogs, 42 exotic animals, 22 rabbits, and three sheep.
In terms of service coverage, the Jakarta Mobile Veterinary Clinic operates at 214 locations across five administrative areas, namely 43 in Central Jakarta, 55 in East Jakarta, 49 in South Jakarta, 32 in North Jakarta, and 35 in West Jakarta.
Head of Jakarta KPKP Agency, Hasudungan Sidabalok said this achievement is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to improve animal welfare while making it easier for the public to obtain quality animal health services.
He explained that service point determination is carried out through a study to ensure services reach areas in need. The agency establishes location criteria based on a priority scale, ranging from priority, moderate priority, to very high priority.
"The Mobile Veterinary Clinic will operate six days a week. This location allows each unit to reach more patients and provide optimal service," he said.
He added that each Jakarta Mobile Animal Clinic unit is equipped with various supporting facilities to support veterinary medical services, such as blood, urine and biochemistry testing equipment, ultrasonography (USG), microscopes, anesthesia machines, and other diagnostic support facilities.
In its operations, each car is supported by one veterinarian and one veterinary paramedic whose job is to assist with animal health examinations and treatment.
"This service is expected to increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining animal health while also realizing a healthy and friendly Jakarta for all," he stated.
