The North Jakarta Health Sub-agency provided education about the dangers of cigarettes and narcotics to students at SDN 04 Tanjung Priok at the local Mayor's Office.

This activity, attended by 30 students, was integrated with the Literacy Performance program regularly held by the North Jakarta Library and Archives Sub-agency. This collaboration aims to increase health knowledge while fostering an interest in reading and a culture of literacy from an early age.

Head of North Jakarta Health Sub-agency, Murniasi said understanding the dangers of addictive substances needs to be instilled from an early age so that children are able to protect themselves and are not easily influenced by negative environments.

"Children should recognize the risks of dependence due to cigarettes and narcotics as early as possible," she said, Monday (10/19).

Head of North Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-agency, Irawan stated this collaboration aims to enrich literacy materials for the younger generation while fostering interest in reading.

"Literacy is not limited to textbooks at school, but also includes broad insights into life, including awareness of the importance of health," he stated.

He added that this integrated activity provides an opportunity for children to gain new knowledge and experience through fun learning methods.

Meanwhile, one of the students, Zafirah admitted the material presented increased her insight regarding the importance of maintaining health and avoiding harmful substances.

"The activity was fun and the material was easy to understand. We learned that smoking and drugs are very dangerous. Therefore, we must have the courage to refuse and protect our health from now on," she admitted.
