Jakarta City Hall is deepening ties with the Jakarta Metro Police to drive safety and public welfare.
Following talks with the Jakarta Police Chief at Jakarta City Hall yesterday, Governor Pramono Anung pledged full backing for the National Police Chief’s welfare and job-creation programs.
The Jakarta administration is all in to support that
"The point is having the police work hand in hand with the community while paying close attention to job creation. The Jakarta administration is all in to support that," he expressed, Thursday (10/15).
Both sides are also teaming up to clean up Jakarta's drug-prone neighborhoods, with Pram pledging full city backing for police anti-narcotics efforts.
"For zones that require special intervention, City Hall will coordinate directly with the police, especially on cracking down on drugs," he explained.
These police initiatives match Jakarta's own neighborhood renewal drive, including in Tanah Abang's Kebon Melati and Kebon Kacang.
Pramono insisted the revamp across the 2.3 km zone will involve zero evictions of the local community.
"This lines up directly with the National Police Chief's roadmap executed by Polda Metro, and we are teaming up to deliver it," he emphasized.
