Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Vice Chairman Basri Baco believes that the higher 2027 City Budget (APBD) sends a positive signal for Jakarta's economy.

He hopes the budget increase can boost public services and enhance infrastructure across the capital.

That means good signs for the livelihood of the people of Jakarta

"Moving from 2026 to 2027, our budget is up to Rp 82.8 trillion, if I'm not mistaken. That means good signs for the livelihood of the people of Jakarta," he expressed, Thursday (10/15).

He noted that the higher budget should motivate the local government to boost public services and speed up infrastructure development.

He also hopes the budget review goes smoothly until it is finalized.

"We're grateful and hope there are no last-minute surprises," he hoped.

Baco credited two main cash drivers for the revenue bump: tax collections and dividend windfalls, while pointing reporters to official records for the nitty-gritty.

Check the Governor’s report for the full breakdown—I haven’t memorized every line. But the main engines are clear: taxes and bonus dividends," he explained.

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno previously rolled out a proposed 2027 city budget of Rp 82.89 trillion at a council plenary session, up 4.18 percent year-on-year.

The funds are aimed primarily at education, infrastructure, and public services to cement Jakarta’s standing as a world-class business city.
