The Central Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency personnel removed 900 meters of overhead cables along Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto and Imam Bonjol on Monday (10/12).
All the networks have been relocated to the Integrated Utility Network Facilities (SJUT)
Central Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Head M. Soleh said the cables belonged to 22 telecommunications network providers.
"All the networks have been relocated to the Integrated Utility Network Facilities (SJUT) built along the sidewalk on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto and Imam Bonjol," he explained.
He said the agency would continue removing overhead cables across all eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta through the end of 2026 to improve road safety and enhance the city's appearance.
"We will also remove overhead cables along sections of Jalan KS Tubun and Kesehatan soon," he added.
He noted that the work also involved removing telecommunications utility poles along the roads.
"The overhead cables and poles will be removed, while PLN power cables will be handled by the relevant parties," he said.
