Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has vowed zero tolerance following allegations of sexual abuse by a staff member at SMKN 27 Jakarta, promising the offender will never teach again.

“I have ordered the strictest possible penalties and ensured this person will never be allowed to work as an educator again,” Pramono expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (10/8).

Pramono stressed that the incident severely damages the reputation of teachers and breaks public trust in the city's schools.

“The actions taken at SMKN 27 have deeply wounded the dignity of educators,” he explained.

The Jakarta government fully backs severe sanctions from the Education Agency and has ordered the incident reported to the police.

“To put it simply, they can never teach in Jakarta again, and I have called for legal action under existing laws,” Pramono asserted.
