The South Jakarta Administration is continuing to revamp the Setu Babakan area in Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa. As part of the process, the Jagakarsa Sub-district Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) has been conducting outreach and issuing warning letters to traders who will be relocated.

Through outreach and discussions with the relevant parties

Jagakarsa Sub-district Satpol PP Head Gortap Hendrick Sihombing said second warning letters (SP2) had been issued, asking traders to voluntarily vacate their kiosks.

"We have issued the warning letters in accordance with regulations while taking a humane approach through outreach and discussions with the relevant parties," he said on Tuesday (10/6).

Gortap explained that on the western side of Setu Babakan, 54 traders received SP2 letters directly, 28 received them through notices posted on their kiosks, and 12 had voluntarily vacated their kiosks.

On the eastern side, 53 traders received SP2 letters directly, 81 received them through notices posted on their kiosks, and one trader had voluntarily vacated their kiosk.

"The process will continue with SP3. We hope all parties involved will support the Setu Babakan revitalization plan while also taking the traders' interests into consideration," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-agency Djaharuddin noted that his office had offered several designated business locations to around 127 registered micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the Setu Babakan revitalization project.

"The revamp is aimed at restoring Setu Babakan's role as a natural and cultural tourism destination," he emphasized.

Djaharuddin added that the capacity of business locations prepared within the Setu Babakan area is limited as part of efforts to restore the area's function. Therefore, not all MSMEs can be accommodated within the area.

"Only around 63 MSMEs can be accommodated on the eastern and western sides. However, this is not final yet. The technical details are still being discussed, given the large number of vendors here, both those who are registered and those who are not," he explained.

His office has also offered alternative business locations elsewhere in South Jakarta, including Pasar Minggu, for MSMEs that cannot be accommodated within Setu Babakan.

"We have three market-based business locations (Lokbin) and 42 temporary business locations (Loksem). However, Loksem locations are specifically intended for food, beverage, and culinary businesses. Hopefully, they will be willing to relocate," he added.
