Personnel from the North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency managed to extinguish the fire that hit the spare parts warehouse on Jalan Madya Kebantenan, Semper Timur Urban Village, Cilincing District.
Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Gatot Sulaeman said the incident was reported at 12:20 PM.
We deployed 10 firetrucks
"We deployed 10 firetrucks with 50 personnel," he said, Thursday (10/1).
The firefighting process began at 12:25 PM. Officers successfully localized the blaze at 12:37 PM, then continued with the cooling process.
"The entire handling process was declared complete at 1:40 PM. There were no fatalities in this incident," he added.
According to him, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a leak in the motorcycle's fuel tank. The leaking fuel seeped into the surrounding area and is believed to have come into contact with an ignition source, causing an ignition.
"The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by police officers," he continued.
Meanwhile, the warehouse owner, Kholis, expressed his gratitude to the sub-agency officers who acted quickly in handling the fire.
In the future, he confirmed that he would be more careful in using and storing fuel to prevent similar incidents.
"I thank the officers who helped extinguish the fire. I hope we can all be more careful," he said.
