The South Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency's Yellow Troops have completed repairs to a section of Jalan Rambutan that had subsided in RT 10/07, Manggarai Selatan Urban Village, Tebet Sub-district.
The work took only two days to complete
Timotius Jonas, Head of the Tebet Public Works Sub-agency Technical Implementation Unit, said the repairs were carried out following a report from residents through the JAKI app about the subsided road, which posed a risk to road users.
"After receiving the report, we immediately went to the site and carried out initial measures by marking off the area to prevent residents from trying to pass through," he said on Thursday (10/1).
Jonas explained that the subsided section measured about 7 by 2 meters. To reinforce the road structure, personnel carried out the repairs in stages, starting with patching and debris removal, followed by a stone foundation for the retaining structure, the installation of bondek decking and wire mesh, and concrete work.
"We deployed 10 Yellow Troops personnel and carried out the work manually with supporting equipment. The work took only two days to complete. We are now waiting for the concrete to dry before the road can be used normally," he said.
He hoped the repairs would strengthen the road structure and prevent further subsidence in the surrounding area, thereby improving safety and comfort for road users.
"Let's work together to take care of our surroundings, including infrastructure built or provided by the government to ensure residents' comfort and safety," he added.
Meanwhile, local resident Dimas appreciated the swift response from Public Works personnel. He said the road had previously seemed unstable because it was built on an old foundation.
"The asphalt was actually new. Maybe the old structure underneath was no longer strong enough to support the load. We appreciate the quick repairs," he said.
