A joint team of approximately 15 personnel is widening Jalan Raya Ciracas in Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. This effort aims to ease frequent traffic congestion at two intersections.

Head of Ciracas District, Panangaran Ritonga said the demolition of the sidewalk was carried out to widen the road to a length of approximately 25 meters and a width of 1.5 meters.

This effort aims to ease frequent traffic congestion at two intersections.

"Pedestrians can cross over the water channel which has been closed at the top," he said, Thursday (10/1).

Panangaran explained that the road-widening plan had been under discussion for the past three months as a solution to congestion at both intersections. The distance between the intersection of Jalan Penganten Ali and Jalan Masjid At Taufik is only about 30 meters, making vehicle access difficult.

"This condition often causes vehicles to cut each other off when passing and ultimately causes traffic jams at both intersections," he added.

According to him, road widening will also be carried out around the intersection of Jalan Masjid At Taufik. The widening is necessary because traffic from Jalan Masjid At Taufik onto Jalan Raya Ciracas often experiences congestion.

"It's targeted to be completed in about two to three weeks. Hopefully, after the widening, there will be no more queues of vehicles," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of RW 11 of Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Suparwo Abdullah said traffic jams occur almost every day in quite severe conditions, impacting the activities and comfort of residents.

"Hopefully there will no longer be traffic congestion as has happened so far," he stated.
