The Draft Bylaw on Family Development includes training for prospective and new parents. The Jakarta DPRD's Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) has completed its discussion of the draft.

Bapemperda Chairman Abdul Aziz said the discussion had incorporated input from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The draft bylaw will next be discussed at a joint leadership meeting (Rapimgab) with the DPRD leadership.

"Alhamdulillah, today Bapemperda completed the discusssion on two draft bylaws. The first is the Family Development bylaw. We have discussed the result of the Ministry of Home Affairs," he explained on Wednesday (9/30).

According to Aziz, the draft bylaw had also been discussed with relevant ministries and was expected to be enacted soon, providing a clear legal framework for addressing family-related issues in Jakarta.

"We hope this bylaw will provide legal certainty on various family-related issues. The family is the foundation of a country," he said.

Aziz added that the provisions on preparing prospective and new parents are expected to help build a quality generation in the capital.

"We hope this will produce a quality generation that will help improve Jakarta's Human Development Index (HDI)," he noted.
