The reconstruction of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and 11 in South Jakarta has begun. The groundbreaking ceremony for the school buildings was inaugurated by Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno on Tuesday (9/29).

Rano said that this development is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to accelerate the restoration of educational facilities so that children can get safe, comfortable, and decent schools.

Rano continued, the reconstruction of the SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and 11 buildings did not use funds from the Jakarta Regional Budget, due to budget efficiency constraints.

The revitalization of this school building uses compensation funds from the building area coefficient (KLB) of developer PT Wisma Nusantara Internasional worth Rp 50 billion.

Construction is planned to last for one year and be completed in August 2027.

"During construction, learning activities continued, but some of the children were temporarily relocated," he said.

Rano added that in the first half of this year, Jakarta's Gini ratio reached 0.435, while the number of poor people fell to 432,650, or 3.96 percent from the previous year.

The Jakarta Provincial Government continues to push for this goal by ensuring that more people have the opportunity to improve their quality of life. One way to do this is by ensuring access to quality and affordable education.

Rano emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strengthen support for education through various programs, in addition to improving infrastructure.

The programs are the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus, the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) and diploma whitening.

"Next year we will launch Jakarta LPDP to provide opportunities for Jakarta children to continue their studies abroad," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Education Agency, Nahdiana stated that SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 was established in 1977 and SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11 in 1985. The two school buildings are located next to each other on land covering an area of ​​approximately 5,000 square meters.

Currently, SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 accommodates around 270 students and 152 students at SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11.

"During the construction process, students from SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 were relocated to SDN Pondok Pinang 05. For SDN Negeri Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11, they were relocated to SDN Kebayoran Lama Utara 03,* she explained.
