The Central Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency is currently revitalizing 4.25 kilometers of sidewalks along Jalan Bendungan Hilir, Jalan Kramat Sentiong, Jalan Palmerah Utara, and Jalan Palmerah Barat. The work has been carried out by a third party since August 2026.

Central Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Head M. Soleh said the sidewalk revitalization is aimed at improving pedestrian comfort while optimizing road space to make it more orderly and functional.

"The work is divided into four packages and is targeted for completion in December," Soleh said on Monday (9/28).

He explained that the four sidewalk revitalization packages cover 1,142 meters along both sides of Jalan Kramat Sentiong, 1,210 meters along Jalan Palmerah Utara and Jalan Palmerah Barat, 952 meters along the southern side of Jalan Bendungan Hilir, and 953 meters along the northern side.

The sidewalks are being revitalized using stamp concrete with a minimum width of 1.8 meters.

"The sidewalks are equipped with yellow tactile paving and bollards to prevent motor vehicles from entering," he added.

Once the revitalization is complete, residents are expected to help maintain the sidewalks and prevent them from being used by street vendors or for illegal parking.

"We urge residents to help maintain the revitalized sidewalks by not using them for parking or selling goods," he stressed.
