Construction on MRT Jakarta’s CP201 package—focusing on the Thamrin and Monas stations—has hit a major safety milestone, logging 10 million safe work hours and 1,155 days free of Lost Time Injuries (LTI) since work began on June 15, 2020.

The safety accomplishment underscores a deeply embedded safety-first culture, even as project completion surged to 94.2 percent by August 25, 2026.

PT MRT Jakarta Construction Director Weni Maulina attributed the safety milestone to the unwavering commitment shown by every team involved in the project.

Speaking on behalf of PT MRT Jakarta, she praised contractors, consultants, and site crews for actively cultivating a safety-first mindset across CP201 job sites.

"I hope we can sustain—and even elevate—this stellar safety record right through to project completion. Our collective target remains zero fatality and zero accident," she emphasized, Wednesday (9/23).

She hoped that the team would deliver the CP201 project safely, on time, and to top quality standards, paving the way for the public to ride a safe, world-class transit system. Operational trial runs are slated to kick off in 2027.

"This safety milestone reflects our steadfast commitment to workplace safety, building trust, and proving that big infrastructure can be built without compromising worker safety," she added.

Contract Package 201 (CP201) plays a key role in the MRT North-South Line Phase 2A expansion, covering the development of the Thamrin and Monas underground stations as well as twin tunnels running from Bundaran HI to Harmoni. The work is being conducted by Shimizu-Adhi Joint Venture (SAJV).

The massive Thamrin Station stretches 440 meters long at a depth of 15.8 meters underground and will feature eight entrance points.

Monas Station spans roughly 280 meters long at a depth of 18.7 meters below the surface, serviced by two main entrances.

Thamrin Station is designed to connect seamlessly with the upcoming East-West Line, making transit transfers smooth and hassle-free for daily commuters.
