Repairs are underway on a section of the Kali Baru retaining wall on Jalan Raya Bogor in Ciracas, East Jakarta, with progress now reaching around 30 percent.

During a site inspection on Tuesday (9/22), workers were repairing the 45-meter section that had collapsed. An excavator long arm was also deployed to support the work.

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Maintenance Section Head Robby Triawan said the repairs were being carried out to prevent further landslides. Dolken wood had previously been installed at the site on February 4, 2026.

"The retaining wall is being repaired by a third-party contractor that won the e-catalog tender. We hope the work will be completed according to the scheduled timeline," Robby said.

The section of retaining wall being repaired measures 45 meters in length and 10.50 meters in height.

Project Field Supervisor Fitra Rafli explained that the retaining wall was being rebuilt with river stones. The structure will be reinforced with a foundation measuring 2.5 meters high and 2.5 meters wide, which will support the 10.50-meter-high river-stone retaining wall above it.

"The retaining wall is being built in three tiers surrounded by sloops. To make it stronger, sloops are also being installed every three meters from the foundation to the top," he added.

The work, which began on September 7, is scheduled for completion on November 24.

Pekayon RW 06 Head Aiptu Joko Wahyu Triyanto thanked the East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency for responding to residents' proposal submitted through the development planning forum (musrenbang). Although the site is located in Ciracas, the landslide also affects residents in his area.

"We really appreciate the East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency for following up on the report of the landslide," he said.
